World Day for War Orphans - January 6
As defined by UNICEF, orphans are children under the age of 18 who have lost a parent or both in any death. As wars took place hundreds of years ago, children are the primary people greatly affected by the inflictions of these tragic incidents. Facing the plight of conflicts, children are forced to survive with themselves or live with another family. And because of it, they have to endure an unimaginable level of mental and emotional stress. There are an estimated 153 million orphans in the world as of today. So how can you commemorate this day?
Invite your friends, family, and colleagues to visit an orphanage. Meet the children and listen to their stories. Visiting them will give them warmth and joy in their lives.
Donate with anything in kind. As reported, some children usually experience poor treatment because of the lack of funds to support their basic necessities.

Today, International Thank You Day is observed to remind us of gratefulness for things and people who make our lives a little easier.
